Terms of Service

1. About Spindrift Bookings
Spindrift Bookings (the “Service”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a private, invitation-only booking and rotation-management platform. Access is restricted to authorized family members and to designated administrators. The Service coordinates use of the private Spindrift property between family members on a fair rotation basis.
2. Eligibility & Account
You may use the Service only if you have been invited by an administrator and provided with a registered phone number and personal PIN. You are responsible for keeping your PIN private and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify an administrator immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Bookings & Rotation Rules
The Service allocates booking opportunities through a rotation shared between the four family branches. When it is your turn:
- You have a set booking window from when your turn begins to either book a stay or pass your turn.
- If you do not act within that window, your turn is automatically passed.
- Bookings that overlap with another branch's reservation require approval from the other party.
- If all four branches pass in a single round, the system switches to free booking mode for that round.
Administrators may, at their discretion, override bookings, block dates for maintenance, or add holidays that affect rotation timing.
4. SMS & Text-Message Program
Text-message notifications are an optional feature.You can use Spindrift Bookings — sign in, view the calendar, see when it is your turn, and make or pass bookings — without ever opting in to SMS. If you choose to opt in through our online sign-up form, you agree to receive transactional SMS text messages from Spindrift Bookings related to your account and booking rotation. This is not a marketing program. You will not receive promotional, advertising, or third-party messages. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of using the Service or of creating an account.
Message types
- Invitation: a one-time link to set up your PIN.
- Turn notifications: a message when it is your turn to book.
- Reminders: up to two reminder messages and one final warning during your active booking window.
- Approval requests: when another family member's booking overlaps with one of yours.
- PIN reset codes: a 6-digit verification code when you request a PIN reset.
- System-wide announcements: for example, when the rotation enters free booking mode.
Frequency
Message frequency varies. In a typical week you may receive anywhere from zero messages (if your branch is not up) to several messages (during your active turn). You will not receive more than one routine reminder per day per turn.
Carriers & cost
Message and data rates may apply. Spindrift Bookings does not charge for messages, but your wireless carrier may. Messages are sent through Twilio and supported by all major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to opt in
Opting in is voluntary. You opt in by visiting our public sign-up form at spindriftbookings.com/opt-in, entering your own mobile number, and checking the box (which is unchecked by default) to agree to receive these messages. Your consent — the number, the exact consent language shown, and the date and time — is recorded before any SMS is sent, and no message is ever sent to a number that has not opted in through this form. Setting up your account and signing in do not require opting in: your phone number is used to sign in, but you receive text messages only if you separately opt in here.
How to opt out
You can stop receiving SMS at any time by:
- Replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any Spindrift Bookings SMS; or
- Signing in to the dashboard and tapping “Opt out of SMS” in the Notification Settings section.
Opting out only stops text messages. It does not affect your account or your place in the booking rotation — you keep full use of Spindrift Bookings and still get your turns; you will just need to check the app for them, since you will not be texted. You can re-enable SMS at any time by replying START (or UNSTOP or YES) to the Spindrift number, or by opting back in from the dashboard. Reply HELP for help.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal purposes related to managing Spindrift property bookings. You will not: attempt to access another family member's account; circumvent the rotation; submit false or fraudulent bookings; or use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any other user.
6. Modifications
Spindrift Bookings may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Spindrift Bookings is not liable for missed turns, delayed or undelivered SMS, or scheduling conflicts arising from the use of the Service. In no event will Spindrift Bookings' total liability exceed the amount you have paid to use the Service (which, for family members, is zero).
